Music and Lyrics: Kjersti Kveli (2010)

Doreen Virtue, Ph.D in Angels etc... (
This song is inspired by the cards Messages from your Angels, Oracle Cards.
Angel Astara says: "You deserve the best! Reach for the Stars with your dreams and desires, and don't compromise.
In the past, you have settled for less than you wanted. But no more. I am here to raise your standards. (...) it isn't selfish to desire a better life. The more that you receive, the more you are able to give to others. (...) We have noticed a reluctance on your part to ask for help. Perhaps you have felt that you didn't deserve good, or that you would be taking away from someone else if you received our help. Yet God only knows abundance, and humans are the only ones who believe in scarcity. This card is a reminder that God and the angels can only intervene if you request our help."

This text "belongs to" Doreen Virtue, and is merely to show you where the inspiration for this song came from. It really spoke to me, therefore I believe it is one of my most powerful songs, cause it portrays letting go, holding on, and letting go. Which we all go through, one way or another.

I would’ve sailed among the stars
Though I wouldn’t have sailed very far
‘Cause I couldn’t just leave you… all behind

There, inside of a sailors old heart
She would sit and she’d wait for his part
But she knew he would leave her…
Just as surely as the tide

Oh, and all of the things that I’ve
Put myself through
Oh, and all of the things that I
Thought I knew
Have now been torn apart

I wanted to lift you up
And I wanted to heal your heart
And I wanted to hold you
Like a mother holds her child

She would hold her pride to the sky
Holding on, working hard not to cry
But now it’s all melting…
Thank you Angel Astara!
